Dr. James (Jimmy) C. Pitts, Jr. grew up in Smyrna, Georgia, where he was a nationally ranked tennis player. He played Division I college tennis at Ole Miss and Georgia Tech.
He received his dental education and degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He has been working in Jasper, TN. since 2004 after acquiring the long time practice of Dr. J. Kyle Kilgore. Prior to moving to Jasper, Dr. Pitts worked with his father, Jim Pitts, DDS, a dentist in Smyrna, GA. Also, his brother, Joey Pitts, DMD, is a dentist.
He has received advanced dental education and training at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL., The Spear Institute in Scottsdale, AZ., and the one year Medical College of Georgia-Maxi Implant course. Dr. Jimmy has taken over 600 hours of continuing education.
On July 16, 2016, Dr. Pitts received the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship Award in Boston, MA. This award is presented to dentists who seek and provide the highest quality dental care by remaining current in their profession. To earn this prestigious honor, Dr. Pitts completed 500 hours of dental continuing education, passed a comprehensive written exam, and fulfilled three years of continuous membership in the AGD.
He is currently a member of the:
American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, and an Associate Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Pitts is known for his sense of humor, gentle and polite nature, and excellent dentistry.
He and his wife, Stephanie, have three children: James (21) is a US Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Chloe (19) is a college sophomore at East Tennessee State University. And Jude (16) is a high school junior at McCallie. He enjoys spending time with his family. Also, Dr. Pitts likes hiking, working out and playing tennis. They attend Calvary Chapel in Chattanooga.
